Cocklety How Byre is part of Cocklety How, a 17th century converted barn that sits at the foot of Catbells, overlooking the fields, woods and fells of the Borrowdale valley. The Byre extension was built in 2000 to the highest possible standards. The result is a beautiful cottage that sympathetically blends the original stonework and beams of the old byre with a modern vaulted ceiling extension that curves along the contour of the fellside to make the most of the spectacular views. The cottage is extremely spacious and the fixtures and fitting are of a very high quality, with La-Z-Boy leather arm chairs, solid oak floors and a sound system. Treat yourself to some luxury!
Luxury cottage suitable for up to 2/3 guests (sofa bed for third guest or for 2 guests requiring a twin). Can be booked with Cocklety How Stable Loft and/or Cocklety How Studio – plenty of space for socialising. Available for short breaks all year round. Great off-peak rates – the perfect cottage for ‘staying in’ on rainy days!

Facilities
These are the same as listed under cottage facilities except those listed below:
Beds, Bedding and Linen The king size master bed is made up for your arrival and towels are provided. Linen is provided for the sofa bed but it is not made up for your arrival (as you’ll probably want to sit on it!).
Sound System There is a central sound system (including satellite radio) wired to speakers in the living room. Ipod and mp3 player compatible.
Laundry There is a washing machine and dryer in the utility room.
Electricity Electricity and oil for the boiler is included in the price.
Cleaning For guests who would prefer not to clean The Byre at the end of their stay we offer an optional end of stay cleaning serivce. For £60 we will waive the conditions of occupancy in clause 6 that state you must leave the cottage as you found it ready for the next guests. We will still take the returnable good housekeeping deposit in case of any damage or breakages and will need to know in advance of your stay whether or not you would require this serivce. This serivce is only available in Cocklety How Byre due to its changeover days and allocation as luxury accommodation.
Hot Water Plenty of hot water from both oil fired boiler and electric hot water cylinder if the boiler is off (e.g. in the summer).
Heating Central heating from an oil fired boiler.
We do not allow smoking inside any of our cottages. Dogs and other pets are not permitted inside the cottages or in the grounds.
