The Cottages: Cocklety How Stable Loft (up to 3/5 people)
Cocklety How Stable Loft is part of Cocklety How, the beautifully situated converted 17th century barn, which comprises 3 self-contained apartments. An interconnecting door allows 2 of them, the Stable Loft and Cocklety How Studio Apartment, to be occupied together.
Please note: We have completed the alterations to give the Stable Loft a new spacious ground floor sitting room, 3rd bedroom and 2nd shower room, and a fully refurbished kitchen/dining room. Photos on this page are of the these new rooms.

On the first floor the Stable Loft has two double bedrooms and one single bedroom (which has a 4ft bed). The large kitchen is also on the first floor, and has a dining area at one end. It was recently refitted in January 2011 with a British made fitted kitchen, built-in hob, built-in double oven, and beautiful solid oak and local green slate work tops (slate supplied by Lakeland Slate Co). The generously sized sitting room is on the ground floor, and has a sofa and 4 armchairs, and TV with free-sat.
The bathroom/wc has a shower over the bath, and downstairs there is a second shower room with wc. Designated off road parking for one car is offered at the cottage, with space for another nearby should you need it.
The kitchen, sitting room and new front bedroom look across Borrowdale, offering spectacular views in all weather. The back door opens onto a secluded paved patio, the front on to a gravelled area, below which is the Stable Loft’s sheltered lawn.
Views from the other 2 bedrooms and the patio are towards the wooded fell behind. They offer great opportunities for wildlife enthusiasts: previous guests have been delighted by the activity of our resident tawny owl, woodpeckers and red squirrels. These are but a few players in the rich wildlife habitat that surrounds Manesty which has enchanted our guests time and time again.
The Stable Loft now operates on a unique sliding scale of prices with great reductions for parties of 2, 3 or 4 people. These rates are published on our prices and availability page.
