Whether you are planning a full-on family Christmas or a romantic break away from it all with your partner, we have something for everyone at Manesty this festive season. Whilst we can’t guarantee a white Christmas, Borrowdale is certainly a winter wonderland, with snow – at least on the fell-tops – as often as not. The low angled sun, morning frosts and bright winter berries make a beautiful backdrop to the holiday season. Our log-fired hot tub in the wood can be yours for the day – an experience you’ll be talking about for the whole of 2014!
You’ll find quality, spacious accommodation, and our unique sliding scale of prices means parties of 5, 6 or 7 can upgrade to a bigger cottage at no extra cost, so there is no reason to make the kids share if they don’t want to. We’re also one of the few self-catering cottages offering short breaks over Christmas and New Year, so if you are short of leave, you can still get away and make the most of the Bank Holidays.
Have a look at our up to date prices and availability to find out which of our cottages, which sleep 2 – 8, will suit you.

Each Christmas we provide all our Christmas guests with a real Christmas tree felled from our wood behind the cottages. As part of the fun of Christmas is the tree decorating ritual we leave that up to you, but we can provide decorations if you wish (however, most of our guests seem to prefer to bring their own favourites!).
For Christmas dinner, you’ll find well-equipped kitchens as well as plenty of local restaurants. Or you can have freshly home-cooked meals delivered to the cottage by Cumbrian Way Foods. Tesco also deliver, taking the stress out of the Christmas preparations. Manesty is ideally placed for gentle after-dinner walks along the lake-shore or through sheltered woodland, or you can work up an appetite climbing Catbells – the path starts just above the cottages. |
